Programs are designed to attract and retain a highly skilled workforce to meet the state’s present needs, and proactively address future employment needs:
Delaware’s Workforce Development Center coordinates and funds employment and customized training activities to help new and existing employers.
Workforce development professionals partner with employers and educational institutions to conduct targeted marketing programs for specific industries and skill sets in an effort to attract and retain highly skilled workers.
Delaware’s Department of Education designed the Soft Skills Career Essentials curriculum to increase productivity, retention and personal responsibility among the state’s workforce.
The Accelerated Career Paths program , an initiative developed along with Delaware Technical Community College and the Delaware Manufacturing Association, is aimed to prepare high school juniors and seniors for the manufacturing workforce. Through this intensive program, students are given the opportunity to receive nationally recognized advanced manufacturing certificates and college credit, in addition to a high school diploma.
