The Delaware Economic Development Office (DEDO) is the primary point of contact for entrepreneurial and small business development in the State. DEDO is organized to meet the needs of entrepreneurs who may be developing a business through our IP Business Creation Program, emerging technology and technology based businesses looking for seed capital through our Tech Based Seed Funds 1 and 2, existing businesses expanding with job creation through our Pre-Venture Fund, and start-up, small, minority and women-owned traditional businesses through our Delaware Access Program.
For those Delaware towns that are looking to attract new businesses to their downtown vacant properties they can find assistance and training at our Delaware Main Street and Downtown Delaware programs. Entrepreneurial and Small Business Development Center professionals work closely with DEDO Industry Clusters and other DEDO Centers of Excellence, to make sure your emerging technology, technology based, small, minority or woman-owned business gets the full range of DEDO support services necessary for your business success. Whether its through use of resources found at our Virtual Pro Business, pro entrepreneur Web Portal, through our sponsored small business support entities such as the Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC), or as a result of DEDO sponsored entrepreneurially focus business seminars and events, we are here to ensure you have speedy access to the resources and support you need to be successful in a competitive environment.

Virtual Pro Entrepreneur/Pro Business Web Portal- DEDO's Virtual Web Portal provides busy entrepreneurs with 24 Hours a day, 7 day a week access to a service provider network, resources, information, and the expertise critical to developing and launching your business ideas.
Small, Minority and Women-Owned Business Support- DEDO professionals have unique, practical experience in the small, minority and women owned business marketplace. That perspective and experience allows DEDO to provide unprecedented guidance and support to that unique and critical business community. DEDO's Delaware Access Program was specifically designed to assist these firms.
Statewide Executive Small Business Advisory Group - The mission of the Statewide Executive Small Business Advisory Group is to identify, advise and to assist the Delaware Economic Development Office in directing a coordinated strategy in the support of entrepreneurism and small business development throughout the State of Delaware. Emerging Technology, Technology Based Business Support Services- Emerging technologies and technology based businesses is the fuel for the New Economy engine for the State of Delaware. Our Tech Based Seed Fund programs and business support resources are designed to successfully transition emerging technologies from conception to the marketplace...with speed.
Delaware Main Street and Downtown Communities- The economic development of our downtowns and the more rural parts of the State are an indicator of the ultimate economic vitality of the entire State. We help towns with business development strategies and training through our Delaware Main Street and Downtown Delaware initiatives.
