Training for Entrepreneurs & Small Business Owners
The Delaware Small Business Development Center (SBDC) provides free business advice, training, education, information and research to Delaware’s small businesses and potential entrepreneurs. Classes cover a variety of topics including start-ups, sales and marketing, government contracting, grant writing, and QuickBooks accounting software.
The SBDC training programs can also help small businesses with the following:
- Grant writing: Entrepreneurs, business owners and University faculty vying for grants will benefit from these expert-taught two-day seminars on how to successfully complete federal forms and required attachments. The program also allows for one-on-one meetings between the instructor and seminar participants to address individual proposal concerns.
- Government contracting: Companies that want to contract with the federal government are taught by a contracting specialist. Individual advisement is also available for qualified companies.
- Online training: SmallBizU is a series of free courses designed to help you find money to start your business, create a loan package, attract investors, create financial projections and learn the fundamentals of accounting.
- Attracting technology investors: The SBDC Delaware Business Assistance course prepares you to talk to investors. Learn the importance of bootstrapping your business, recruiting mentors and finding strategic partners.
