Operating or starting a company is no easy feat. The Workforce Development Center has provided the below resources that will direct companies and individuals to gain information regarding business finance, start up of entrepreneurship and small business, land-use and infrastructure, and workforce development. In addition, a link to utilize the Office of Occupation Labor & Market Information website to learn of new technology to maximize information including demographic, occupational, and industrial labor market areas. Included is a link for suggested reading materials as well as a link to find your nearest Chamber of Commerce.

Capital Resources

The Capital Resources Section through the Delaware Economic Development Office offers a wide array of business financing programs to meet the needs of virtually any business. It assists companies who are thinking of locating or expanding a business in Delaware, starting up a small technology-based firm, enhancing a seasoned 100-employee manufacturing company, venture capital funding or focusing on Clean Energy initiatives or Brownfield Redevelopment.

Entrepreneur & Small Business Support

The Entrepreneurial and Small Business Development Center of the Delaware Ecomonic Development Office is the primary point of contact for entrepreneurial and small business development in the State. In addition, those towns that are looking to attract new businesses to their downtown vacant properties can find assistance and training under Downtown Communities on DEDO's home page.

Infrastructure and Intergovernmental Relations

The Infrastructure and Intergovernmental Relations Center (IIR) is the primary sales and negotiation point of contact for non-cluster businesses in Delaware and is responsible for targeting, prospecting, qualifying and closing opportunities for non-cluster industries to locate in Delaware. IIR also is responsible for active outreach, communication and participation with state, county, local government and agencies, and appropriate providers regarding utility, land-use and infrastructure issues in support of growing Delaware's economy.

Workforce Development Center

The Workforce Development Center (WDC) offers a wide range of support to Delaware companies by providing recruitment assistance, referral and resource services, developing professional partners with employers and educational institutions, and conducting targeted marketing programs for specific industries/skill sets. WDC coordinates and funds employment and customized training activities that help new and existing employers achieve their company goals.
