Division of Employment and Training (DET) DET provides services enabling employers and job seekers to make informed employment and training choices leading to employment. In order to receive qualified candidates for your job openings, you can call, mail, or fax your job order to the local office nearest you. Division staff will then list your job requirements in the Virtual Career Network and will also immediately begin identifying qualified applicants based on their skills and work history. Applicants whose qualifications match your requirements will be referred to your company in accordance with your referral instructions. Services for Employers Include: ACCESS to a broad cross section of workers from all occupational categories, skill and experience levels. SCREENING of applicants using the employer's hiring criteria and providing only the specified number of qualified applicants. PROVIDING space for interviews at DET facilities and scheduling qualified applicants for recruitment efforts. ADMINISTERING clerical skills' proficiency tests. PROVIDING on-site, pre-layoff orientation sessions for workers impacted by a plant closure or mass layoff. OFFERING free, classroom-related instruction in apprenticeable occupations resulting in Journey Worker Certification. Job Posting/Applicant Search To place a job order, employers may call or fax requests to the nearest Department of Labor's One Stop Office, and the staff will list the employer's requirements on the division's job matching system. The orders will also be displayed on the Virtual Career Network, the Division's internet job bank. Through state-of-the-art technology, DET personnel immediately identify qualified applicants based on their skills and work history.
