(Dover, Del.) The Delaware Economic Development Office announced today the release of The Delaware Recyclers Directory, which provides easy access to a variety of resources that assist Delaware businesses in cost-effective waste reduction and recycling. John D. Wik, Director of DEDO, says, “The directory is a valuable tool for Delaware businesses. By reusing items or recycling materials into new products, businesses can do their part in improving and protecting the state’s environmental quality while reducing their own waste management costs.” Recycling also facilitates the continued growth of Delaware’s reuse and recycling industry sector, which accounts for more than $469 million in annual estimated gross receipts. The directory contains information on Delaware businesses that recycle a wide variety of materials, from aluminum to zinc, as well as a list of recycling-related agencies and associations. Also included are recycling tips for small businesses, information on recycling content product purchasing, and a fact sheet on the benefits of recycling. The Delaware Recyclers Directory was made possible through a Jobs Through Recycling grant awarded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to the Delaware Economic Development Office. To receive a copy of the directory, please call the Delaware Economic Development Office at 302.577.8708. DEDO’s Green Industries Program promotes the use of recycled materials and reduction in waste generation to maintain and improve Delaware’s quality of life. Under the program, qualified businesses are eligible for technical assistance, tax credits, and financing assistance for recycling-related initiatives. For more information, call 302.577.8708.
